- Configuration of Windows 95 Dial-up Networking for CompuServe

- 1. Configure modem in the standard Windows 95 fashion.

- 2. Make sure Dial-up Networking has been installed during Win 95
- installation

- 3. Install Dscript (Dial-up Scripting) from Win 95 CD if not already
- installed
- 1. Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
- 2. Windows Setup Tab
- 3. Have Disk
- 4. Browse from Win 95 CD -> \Admin\Apptools\Dscript
- 5. Select Rnaplus.inf
- 6. Check SLIP and scripting for Dial-up networking
- 7. Install

- 4. Configure Dial-up networking for CompuServe
- 1. Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Dial-up Networking
- 2. Make a new connection for CompuServe
- 1. Enter normal CompuServe dialup phone number
- 2. Server Type
- - PPP
- - UNCHECK log on to network
- - UNCHECK NetBEUI and IPX/SPX (not necessary)
- 3. Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Dial-up SCRIPTING
- 1. Choose connection that was just configured
- 2. Browse for dialup script -- choose "CIS.scp" script file
- 3. Apply

- 5. Dial in to CompuServe
- 4. Back to Dial-up Networking window
- 1. Double-click connection that was just configured
- 2. User name = CompuServe PPN
- 3. Password = CompuServe password
