  1.     Configuration of Windows 95 Dial-up Networking for CompuServe

  3. 1. Configure modem in the standard Windows 95 fashion.

  5. 2. Make sure Dial-up Networking has been installed during Win 95
  6.    installation
  7.  
  8. 3. Install Dscript (Dial-up Scripting) from Win 95 CD if not already
  9.    installed
  10.    1. Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
  11.    2. Windows Setup Tab
  12.    3. Have Disk
  13.    4. Browse from Win 95 CD -> \Admin\Apptools\Dscript
  14.    5. Select Rnaplus.inf
  15.    6. Check SLIP and scripting for Dial-up networking
  16.    7. Install

  18. 4. Configure Dial-up networking for CompuServe
  19.    1. Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Dial-up Networking
  20.    2. Make a new connection for CompuServe
  21.       1. Enter normal CompuServe dialup phone number
  22.       2. Server Type
  23.          - PPP
  24.          - UNCHECK log on to network
  25.          - UNCHECK NetBEUI and IPX/SPX (not necessary)
  26.    3. Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Dial-up SCRIPTING
  27.       1. Choose connection that was just configured
  28.       2. Browse for dialup script -- choose "CIS.scp" script file
  29.       3. Apply

  31. 5. Dial in to CompuServe
  32.    4. Back to Dial-up Networking window
  33.       1. Double-click connection that was just configured
  34.       2. User name = CompuServe PPN
  35.       3. Password = CompuServe password
